Job summary

The Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) seeks a Staff Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, including AP/AR, deposits, invoicing and month-end close for IHCA and related entities.

Reporting to the VP of Accounting & Operations, you will maintain accurate records, perform reconciliations, prepare schedules for audits, and support financial reporting while ensuring deadlines and high-quality member service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years of accounting or financial experience.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations.
• Proficient in MS Office 365 and QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• AMS or database experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Iowa.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Complete month-end close tasks and account reconciliations.
• Process deposits and payments.
• Prepare member and vendor invoices and maintain vendor records.
• Maintain accounting journals and assist with financial reporting.
