Job summary

Anticimex Carolinas is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role maintains the general ledger, supports financial reporting, and ensures timely month-end and year-end close activities.

You will handle journal entries, reconcile cash, and collaborate with AP/AR to ensure accurate postings. This position offers growth opportunities within a safety-first, development-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting principles.
• Intermediate Excel: PivotTables and VLOOKUPs.
• Ability to manage priorities and adapt to changing needs.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in a team.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries (cash, accruals, prepaid, intercompany, bad debt reserves).
• Record and reconcile daily cash activity.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and reporting.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage fixed asset accounting (additions, disposals, depreciation).
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable for proper expense coding.
• Coordinate with Accounts Receivable for posting and cash reconciliation.
• Assist with ad hoc reporting, analytics, and special projects.
• Develop and document accounting procedures and best practices.
• Provide backup support for various accounting functions.
• Contribute to department goals while handling multiple priorities.
