Spherion Staffing, LLC is hiring a Staff Accountant in Vandalia, OH. You will support month-end closes, manage general ledger entries, and handle cost/inventory functions across two ERP systems.

Qualifications

• An Associate or Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of experience in general accounting, including 1-2 years specifically in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (you must be a pro with Pivot Tables and V-Lookups!).
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and possess a high level of attention to detail.
• Professional communicator who excels at interacting with coworkers, customers, and business partners.

Responsibilities

• Drive Accuracy: Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, posting, and recording accounting data.
• Master the Ledger: Assist with general ledger maintenance by preparing and posting journal entries, and support month-end closing and account reconciliations.
• Be the Backbone: Help serve as a backup for the Accounting Manager and other key accounting functions, ensuring the efficiency of financial operations.
• Optimize Operations: Be involved in costing and inventory functions, manage fixed assets, and support the continuous improvement of accounting systems and procedures.
• Collaborate & Innovate: Work cross-functionally with Purchasing, Sales, and Operations to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve workflows.
• Ensure Compliance: Help maintain strict compliance with internal control policies and GAAP requirements.
