Colonial Downs Group is recruiting for a Staff Accountant I to support financial reporting, journal entries, and month-end close at Rosie’s Gaming Emporium – New Kent in New Kent, VA. The role emphasizes accuracy in data entry and adherence to GAAP within a regulated gaming environment.

The position involves preparing financial statements, coordinating with auditors, and maintaining the general ledger while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required.
• One to three years accounting/finance experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• Must obtain Virginia Racing Commission license.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports for assets, liabilities, P&L and tax liabilities.
• Enter journal entries and reconcile data across systems.
• Maintain general ledger and support audits and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting.
• Communicate discrepancies to Financial Controller and resolve problems.
• File required tax forms with federal, state, and local agencies.
