Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing professional services organization in San Diego to identify a Staff Accountant. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, project accounting, and month-end close, with exposure across the accounting function.

The Staff Accountant will report to the Controller, be hands-on and detail-oriented, and collaborate with leaders across departments to drive process improvements and technology initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience with project-based accounting and job costing.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Assist with payroll processing and related reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Perform budget-to-actual analysis and financial reporting.
• Support project accounting and job costing activities.
• Collaborate with project managers and operational teams to ensure accurate project financial tracking.
• Assist with process improvement and accounting system enhancement initiatives.
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
