Job summary

8am is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in the month-end close process and report to the GL Accounting Manager.

The ideal candidate has a solid accounting background, comprehensive GAAP knowledge, and strong analytical skills. The role involves performing month-end close, journal entries, accrual analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities, with opportunities to cross-train in prepaids, fixed assets, and

Qualifications

• 2-4 years accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal, listening and written communications skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Confident self-starter able to work independently and with other departments.
• Experience with ERP systems (Workday experience a plus).

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close functions for multiple entities.
• Prepare journal entries.
• Analyze and book accruals for invoices, PO's, contracts, and credit card transactions.
• Reconcile and provide supporting documentation for balance sheet accounts.
• Review variances and provide notes from analysis.
