Job summary

OPENLANE in Carmel, Indiana is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This hybrid role will support daily financial operations and ensure accuracy of records.

You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in accounting and at least 3 years of experience, with strong GAAP knowledge and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and corporate accounting.
• Proficiency in Excel, Google Suite, and accounting software.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing, with financial statements and variance analysis.
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements and other accounts.
• Process and verify expense reports per policy.
• Assist in budgets and forecasts, providing insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to record and report transactions.
• Assist in audit schedules and support during external audits.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations and best practices.
• Participate in process improvement to streamline procedures.
• Provide accurate financial information to management.
