Job summary

Selective Insurance Company of America in Short Hills, NJ is seeking an Accountant to maintain general ledger balances in accordance with SSAP and GAAP. You will prepare monthly financial reports and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Note: Location is at our future headquarters in Short Hills; interim work at Branchville, NJ will be available during transition. Qualifications include a Bachelor's in accounting and 1–3 years of financial accounting experience.

Overview

Position is responsible for maintaining general ledger account balances, in conformity with Statutory Accounting Principles (SSAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Prepares accurate monthly financial reports and accounting summaries. Examines accounting documents for accuracy and ensures compliance with policies and procedures and accounting standards. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Note: (For NJ candidates) This role will be located at our future headquarters in Short Hills, N.J. Until the new headquarters is operational, the successful candidate will be offered the ability to work in our Branchville, N.J. location during this interim period.

Pay Range

USD $76,000.00 - USD $98,000.00 /Yr.
