Job summary

Selective Insurance is seeking an accountant to maintain general ledger balances under SSAP and GAAP, and to prepare monthly financial reports and reconciliations. You will apply regulatory requirements and contribute to improvements in accounting procedures.

Located in New Jersey with interim work locations in Branchville during HQ relocation, you will analyze ledgers, prepare reports, and participate in accounting projects. A Bachelor’s in accounting and 1–3 years of experience are preferred.

Overview

Position is responsible for maintaining general ledger account balances, in conformity with Statutory Accounting Principles (SSAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Prepares accurate monthly financial reports and accounting summaries. Examines accounting documents for accuracy and ensures compliance with policies and procedures and accounting standards. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Note: (For NJ candidates) This role will be located at our future headquarters in Short Hills, N.J. Until the new headquarters is operational, the successful candidate will be offered the ability to work in our Branchville, N.J. location during this interim period.

Pay Range

USD $76,000.00 - USD $98,000.00 /Yr.
