Job summary

Up to Par Management and Taylor Hospitality are seeking a Staff Accountant to support hotel, resort, and club clients from our Charlottesville/Waynesboro base. You’ll own full-cycle accounting, month-end close, and monthly financial reviews, with exposure to multi-property accounts and intercompany activity.

This on-site role offers a pathway to Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, and Controller roles, plus benefits, a 401(k), and hospitality perks across our portfolio.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with GAAP, bookkeeping, journal entries, and month-end close.
• Hotel accounting experience highly preferred (hotel, resort, club, or F&B).
• Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, SUMIFS.
• CPA, CPA candidate, or pursuing licensure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements across hotel, hospitality, and club portfolio.
• Lead monthly financial review meetings with property-level clients; explain variances.
• Record and post journal entries into the general ledger.
• Perform month-end close: reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, intercompany entries.
• Analyze COGS and operating expenses against prior year and budget; propose actions.
• Develop scalable accounting processes for portfolio growth.
• Partner with operations, F&B, rooms, and club heads for accurate reporting.
• Support audit prep, year-end close, and ad-hoc finance projects.
