Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking an Accountant to support the finance and accounting team. Responsibilities include month-end close, analyzing financial information, reconciling general ledger accounts, and preparing internal financial reports.

The role collaborates with vendors, banks, and auditors as needed. Ideal candidates have a BS in Accounting or Finance with up to four years of experience, and strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting or Finance (min GPA 3.0)
• 0–4 years experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to multi-task
• Self-motivated with initiative and ability to work independently
• Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries.
• Prepare and review detailed journal entries.
• Record month-end accruals.
• Publish internal month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting.
• Perform accounting reconciliations and balance sheet trend analysis.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with deadlines and lead accounting projects.
• Perform other related duties as assigned
