Job summary

AZZ Inc. in Fort Worth, TX, seeks a Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. You’ll perform day-to-day accounting work, partner with business units, and help ensure accurate close processes.

Responsibilities include month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting A/R, A/P and payroll while ensuring SOX compliance. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required, with strong Excel skills and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Fundamental accounting, internal controls, and SOX knowledge.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assists Accounting Department with month end closing of the general ledger, A/R, AP, & purchasing modules.
• Posts journal entries, preparation of various reconciliations including prepaids, insurance, and bank statement.
• Answers questions from business units and complete special assignments and projects as they arise.
• Supports general ledger function, A/R, A/P and payroll as needed.
• Ensures SOX compliance and SEC regulations where applicable.
