Job summary

GroundSystems is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to maintain accurate financial records and support month-end and year-end close processes. You will manage AP/AR and assist with budgeting and forecasting while ensuring GAAP compliance.

You will work closely with the VP of Administration & Accounting and may lead the Accounting & Office Administrator, contributing to process improvements and day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• One to three years of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or a similar platform, along with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Consistent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Manage the Accounting & Office Administrator.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Analyze financial data and provide useful insights to management.
• Take on other related responsibilities as business needs evolve.
