Job summary

JFS Delaware is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, grant accounting, and compliance. This role requires attention to detail and solid GAAP knowledge, with the CFO providing oversight.

You will maintain records in QuickBooks, prepare reconciliations and journal entries, process payroll-related entries, and assist with audits and grant reporting. This on-site position is based in Wilmington, DE and offers the chance to contribute to

Qualifications

• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, payroll accounting, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.

Responsibilities

• General Accounting & Month-End Close: Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare and record accruals, journal entries, and other month-end adjustments.
• Prepare bi-weekly payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts.
• Prepare monthly invoicing and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
• Maintain grant tracking schedules and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate documentation for annual audits and state/federal audits.
