Job summary

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Accounting Team in Washington, DC. This full-time role will liaise across departments and with external partners to ensure accurate accounting, prompt payment of invoices, and employee expense reimbursements.

The position will support the monthly close and audits as needed. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 1-3 years of relevant experience, proficiency with spreadsheet software, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
• Proficient in data entry and management.
• Strong experience with spreadsheet software.
• Experience with Sage Intacct and automated accounts payable software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Download daily credit card and bank transactions and summarize them.
• Prepare cash reconciliation templates from monthly bank statements.
• Reconcile deposits into cash accounts and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
• Monitor the accounting inbox and respond to questions from vendors and staff.
• Set up outgoing bank transfers and create ACH or wire templates.
• Assist in the monthly close process
• Assist in interim and annual audits with external auditors
• Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission
