Job summary

Northgate Resorts is seeking a Staff Accountant to handle payables, journal entries, month-end closing, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple park locations. The role collaborates with a remote General Manager and Office Manager and reports to the Controller.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel skills, delivering accurate financial statements and timely reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience or industry-specific education required.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and approving accounts payable transactions.
• Own and support the month-end close process including preparing and posting adjusting entries.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations.
• Understand and apply capitalization policies when reviewing payables.
• Analytically review monthly financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Support day-to-day accounting functions at various park locations.
• Participate in other projects and activities as assigned.
