Job summary

AdvoCare in Richardson, TX is seeking a Cost Accountant to manage standard costs, analyze variances, and support monthly inventory and cost close processes.

You will work with Oracle ERP, maintain cost data, prepare reports, and coordinate with Inventory Control, Purchasing, and AP to ensure accurate cost information across the organization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years accounting experience.
• Understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills including complex formulas and nested logic (index/match, xlookups, sumifs).
• Ability to translate raw data into actionable financial and operational insights.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud (Fusion) or Oracle EBS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standard costs, cost worksheets, and price lists.

• Assist with new product costing, bundle costing, and promotional cost tracking.
• Prepare recurring cost reports and ad hoc analyses.

• Assist ERP enhancements and documentation; support Oracle Cloud implementation.

Job description

The Cost Accountant supports all cost accounting activities related to manufacturing, including maintaining standard costs, analyzing cost variances, and performing monthly inventory and cost close processes. This role reviews actual vs. standard costs, supports inventory valuation, assists with physical inventories, and ensures accurate cost data across the ERP system.

Inventory and Cost Accounting & Analysis

• Support the maintenance and updating of standard costs, cost worksheets, and price lists
• Analyze actual vs. standard costs and assist in variance analysis (materials, labor, overhead)
• Assist with new product costing, bundle costing, and promotional cost tracking
• Prepare recurring cost reports and support ad hoc analysis
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory valuation across locations in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare inventory reconciliations and support investigation of variances
• Support tracking and analysis of inventory activity, including adjustments, write-offs, and promotions
• Assist in maintaining inventory reserves and related documentation

Month-End Close

• Support inventory and cost-related close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare supporting schedules for inventory, cost of goods sold, and accruals
• Assist in analyzing monthly results and identifying key variances
• Assist with periodic physical inventory counts.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Partner with Inventory Control, Purchasing, AP, and Receiving to ensure accurate and timely cost data
• Support communication and data needs across all departments related to promotions and product usage
• Help resolve day-to-day inventory and cost-related issues

Data & Process Support

• Maintain and update cost-related data within Oracle, including cost setup and GL coding
• Assist in improving reporting processes and data accuracy
• Support ERP enhancements (including implementation of Oracle Cloud), reporting improvements, and documentation

Audit & Compliance

• Support internal and external audits

Preferred Qualifications:
