Job summary

Pivotal Solutions is seeking a Cost Accountant to manage day-to-day cost accounting tasks and contribute to monthly close activities. The role involves daily production cost review, variance analysis, and maintenance of BOMs, with responsibilities including preparing reports and ensuring accuracy of inventory data.

Experience with QAD or similar ERP systems is preferred. A strong set of analytical, organizational, and communication skills is essential for success in this role based in

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Cost Accounting tasks.
• Daily production review, analysis, entry, and reconciliation (variances).
• Review costing and inventory exception reports.
• Lead weekly and quarterly cycle counting procedures per policy.
• Create and distribute accounting reports as needed.
• Update/Maintain BOMs for existing items.
• Complete monthly close tasks including data analysis, journal entries, and reports.

Job description

• Responsible for managing certain day-to-day Cost Accounting tasks, including but not limited to:
  
• Daily production review, analysis, entry, and reconciliation (including investigating variances)
  
• Daily review of costing and inventory exception reports.
  
• Manage weekly and quarterly cycle counting procedures with adherence to company policies.
  
• Creating and distributing accounting reports as necessary.
  
• Updating/Maintaining BOM’s for existing items.
  
• Complete period close (monthly) tasks, including analyzing data, writing journal entries, and Accounting reports/scorecards.
  
• Assists in the other duties as directed by their supervisor as the incumbent builds on their experiences.
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• Prior Accounting experience, preferably Cost Accounting.
  
• Ability to think critically and logically.
  
• Demonstrated pattern of initiative and dedication.
  
• Excellent pattern of attendance reliability.
  
• Well-developed organizational and time management skills.
  
• Well-developed written and interpersonal skills.
  
• Proficient with use of computers, including Microsoft Office (Excel, email, etc)

• Experience working in a food manufacturing or related environment.

• Experience with perpetual inventory systems.
  
• Experience with Oracle Financials, or other ERP related system.
