Job summary

MDM Recruiting is partnering with a client in Madison, WI to hire a Staff Accountant for their Finance team. You will manage month-end close, reconcile GLs, and prepare journal entries while supporting audits and tax work.

The ideal candidate has an accounting degree (AA/BA), solid GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel, and strong team communication. Landscaping or construction industry exposure is a plus, with a detail-focused, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Strong GAAP and GL knowledge required.
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run month-end close and reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journal entries and GL analyses.
• Reconcile bank statements and support AP as needed.
• Handle sales and use tax filings.
• Assist with audits and tax preparation.
