Job summary

American National is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the General Accounting team in a hands-on role focused on journal entries, reconciliations, and timely financial reporting. This onsite position supports close activities and ledger-related work within a centralized accounting function.

You will collaborate with accounting, finance, actuarial, and other business partners to ensure accurate accounting tasks and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 2+ years hands-on accounting experience in general accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, or close support.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and input journal entries with accurate documentation.
• Complete account reconciliations and resolve variances or outstanding items.
• Support close activities and general ledger accounting tasks.
• Assist with financial reporting support and ledger-related work.
• Help document accounting processes, templates, and procedures.
