Overhead Door Corporation in Lewisville, TX is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Corporate shared services accounting team under the Corporate Accounting Manager. The role focuses on cash and vendor maintenance, with responsibilities spanning reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.

The Staff Accountant will handle vendor setup/maintenance, bank reconciliations, weekly freight cost reporting, and support for ad-hoc analyses in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Qualifications

• This is an entry level position; no prior experience required but 1+ year of accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of accrual basis accounting and GAAP.
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; advanced formulas like vlookup/pivot tables a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for vendor records and maintenance across ERP systems.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts and resolve reconciling items.
• Prepare and distribute weekly freight cost reports and record the corresponding monthly journal entry.
• Perform weekly check runs including printing and mailing checks.
• Assist in month-end close processes including journal entries and cost allocations to divisions.
• Support the Corporate accounting team through ad-hoc reporting or data entry as needed.
