Job summary

GMP Advisors in Tyler, Texas is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Client Accounting and Advisory Services team. You will perform day-to-day bookkeeping, prepare monthly client financial reports, assist with payroll processing, and support month-end close with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and at least 5 years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience, strong Excel skills, familiarity with QuickBooks

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related professional experience
• Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals (debits/credits, general ledger, journal entries)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; comfort working in technology-forward environments
• Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred, or strong willingness to learn quickly
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in client-facing settings
• Eagerness to learn and contribute within a collaborative public accounting environment
• Familiarity with additional accounting platforms (Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Xero) or AI-enabled accounting tools
