Job summary

Tiposi, a medical device startup, seeks a Staff Accountant to own financial operations—from month-end close to investor reporting. This hands-on role involves GAAP compliance, payroll, and cross‑functional collaboration with leadership.

You will prepare financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting, and assist with tax and audits while gaining real ownership across the business in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English is required or highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of debits/credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and journal entries.
• Familiarity with GAAP standards and government accounting is a plus.
• Excellent Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to reconcile accounts and analyze balance sheets with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including month-end close, accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow).
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis against projections.
• Provide financial data for investor relations and fundraising activities.
• Coordinate tax preparation and work with external accountants as needed.
• Collaborate with auditors during annual audits and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Develop and improve internal controls and procedures.
• Travel with CEO to support investor meetings as needed.
• Support HR and recruiting functions including payroll administration and onboarding.

Tiposi, an innovator in medical device technology for stroke detection, is seeking a Staff Accountant to own our financial operations and help keep the business running smoothly as we push toward commercialization. This is a hands‑on role at a medical device startup—you'll handle everything from QuickBooks reconciliation to investor reporting.

Your expertise will support our organization's financial health and integrity, contributing to strategic decision-making and operational excellence. At this stage of our growth, you'll take on real ownership across multiple areas of the business and collaborate directly with leadership and investors.

Duties

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including month‑end close, accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements).
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to track spending against projections.
• Provide financial data and insights for investor relations and fundraising activities.
• Coordinate tax preparation and compliance, working with external accountants as needed.
• Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Develop and improve internal financial controls and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English.
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double‑entry bookkeeping, and journal entries.

• Excellent numeracy skills combined with the ability to analyze Excel data effectively for reporting purposes.
