Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team, reporting to the Director of Finance. The role focuses on accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities include AR cycle management, journal entries, and assisting with month-end and year-end close. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of AR experience, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of accounting software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience, including hands-on Accounts Receivable experience.
• Strong understanding of the accounts receivable process and general accounting principles.
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, invoicing, cash applications, and collections support.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and data analysis.
• Experience with accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Manage the accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, cash application, account reconciliations, and collections support.
• Monitor customer accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve billing or payment issues.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.
• Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
• Support preparation of financial statements, management reports, and accounting analyses.
• Assist with accounts payable, expense reporting, and other general accounting activities as needed.
• Provide documentation and support for audits and internal reviews.
• Identify process improvements and help strengthen accounting controls.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Finance.
