The HIP Finance team is the backbone of the organization. The work provided by the Finance team allows our staff and grantees to have the funds and information needed to conduct and support programmatic activities. The Finance team is comprised of the CFO, Finance Manager, and two staff accountants (A/R, and the open A/P role,) and 1 Finance Manager in Mexico. HIP is complex with a $19 million budget in the US and Mexico ($17 million in HIP activities and nearly $2 million in Fiscal Sponsorship activities). HIP has budgeted approximately $7 million in regranting activity, holds approximately $15 million in investments, retains staff in multiple states, and runs a crowdfunding platform (HIPGive.org). The activities are diverse and expansive which is great if you enjoy learning new things and being busy!
We’re looking for a Staff Accountant for Accounts Payable that is skilled in accrual accounting and believes in HIP’s mission and has the patience, follow through, detail and time-management skills to work across teams in the U.S. and Mexico. The ideal candidate will support all areas of A/P, from saving appropriate documentation, entering transactions from check requests, reimbursements, payroll, credit cards, and grant activity to follow up with teams regarding missing compliance documentation such as receipts, contracts, ACH forms, or approvals. This role will also have cross-training in A/R to support the rest of the finance team when needed and will also support HIP’s annual audit activities, and other finance team needs or special projects as requested.
