The Staff Accountant II executes complex accounting processes with a high degree of accuracy and independence. This position is a key mid-level professional role which encompasses all core duties of a Staff Accountant I while adding preparation of complex accounting transactions, reconciliations, analysis and performing month-end and year end closing processes all while ensuring the overall financial integrity and reporting accuracy under the Office of the Controller.
The Staff Accountant II uses their accounting knowledge daily to ensure high accuracy, precision, and attention to detail. This position requires knowledge of municipal finance and governmental accounting practices and controls, account analysis, and bank reconciliation. Strong interpersonal and telephone communication skills, effective written and verbal communication, and working well with others is a must. Must be able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate multiple task projects.
