Job summary

A leading PE-backed AI and technology firm is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its financial accounting team. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with US GAAP across global affiliates. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess a strong accounting foundation. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, including public accounting.
  • Active pursuit or partial completion of US CPA certification preferred.
  • Experience in public accounting required (Big 4 experience is a plus).

  • Prepare and enter journal entries into NetSuite, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Remote (candidate must be local to the DC-metro area for occasional meetings)
Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000
Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the financial accounting team in the US. You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with US GAAP across global affiliates. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and has a strong foundation in accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accounting records in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries into NetSuite, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support month-end close processes and collaborate with team members to meet deadlines.
  • Participate in process improvements to enhance accounting workflows and efficiency.
  • Contribute to financial projects and operational goals.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Active pursuit or partial completion of US CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, including public accounting.
  • Experience in public accounting required (Big 4 experience is a plus).
  • Located in the Washington, D.C. metro area for occasional in-person meetings.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Self-sufficient and proactive with problem-solving skills.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
