Job summary

KHS in Wisconsin is seeking a Staff Accountant to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. You will manage daily transactions, maintain the general ledger, and support month-end close and financial reporting.

Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance teams; perform reconciliations, assist budgeting/forecasting, and support audits. Requires 1–3 years of experience and SAP proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, project-based, or industrial environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of GAAP and internal control principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage and accurately record daily accounting transactions, ensuring timely processing of financial activity.
• Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, and month-end adjustments.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts with ledger reconciliation.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items, outstanding transactions, banking discrepancies, and unidentified charges or fees.
• Analyze account activity and research variances to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Support month-end, quarterly, and year-end close processes with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Liabilities, other accounts).
• Assist with monthly financial reports and supporting schedules; support budgeting and forecasting.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
• Assist audits by providing documentation and analyses.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency and controls.

The Staff Accountant supports the Finance and Accounting function by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of financial data. This role is responsible for maintaining financial records, performing account reconciliations, supporting project accounting activities, and assisting with monthly financial reporting and analysis. The Staff Accountant collaborates closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic business decision-making.

Your Responsibilities:

• Manage and accurately record daily accounting transactions, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of financial activity.
• Maintain the general ledger, including reviewing, analyzing, and posting journal entries, accruals, and month-end adjustments.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts, ensuring all banking activity is accurately recorded and reconciled to the general ledger.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items, outstanding transactions, banking discrepancies, and unidentified charges or fees in a timely manner.
• Analyze account activity and research variances to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including:
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • Prepaid Expenses
  • Accrued Liabilities
  • Other assigned accounts
• Ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial records and adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities as needed.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
• Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and account analyses.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing accounting efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

Your Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 1 to 3 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing, project-based, or industrial environment is a plus.
• Proficiency with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.
• Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes.
• Knowledge of GAAP and internal control principles.
