Job summary

The Visual Pak Companies seek a Senior Staff Accountant to lead monthly and year-end close, prepare consolidated financial statements, and perform business-unit analysis from our ERP data.

You will code journal entries, reconcile balance sheets, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure compliance with internal controls while supporting continuous improvement in the finance team.

CPA or finance certification is a plus; 3 years of staff accounting experience required; Illinois work location.

Position Title:

Senior Staff Accountant

Position Purpose/Summary:

The Staff Accountant performs a variety of transactional accounting and reporting functions and plays a leading role in the Accounting Department’s preparation of accurate and timely monthly and annual financial statements, as well as business unit performance analysis. This position requires solid knowledge of accounting principles and processes and the ability to extract and analyze data from an ERP system. The Staff Accountant will perform a variety of tasks such as monthly and year-end accounting, maintenance and updating of general ledger schedules, journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, consolidation entries, accruals, depreciation, intercompany reconciliations, GL coding, etc., culminating in the preparation of business unit and consolidated financial statements.

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities

Education:

• Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA or other Finance Certifications a plus.

Experience:

• 3 years of staff accounting or equivalent work experience required.
• Transaction-based accounting in an ERP system.
• Self-motivated and self-directed to meet business needs and expectations, including team contribution.
• Demonstrated proficiency in attention to detail, a professional attitude and demeanor, and proven reliability.

• Competence in using ERP software in an accounting capacity.
