Job summary

BerryDunn is seeking a Staff Accountant to provide outsourced accounting and financial reporting services. You will support day-to-day accounting, monthly close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation across multiple clients, reporting to a Manager in the Outsourced Accounting Services Practice Group.

Minimal travel (<10%), opportunities for growth, and collaboration with senior team members are highlights of this role. A BA/BS in Accounting is required and experience with QuickBooks is valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform compilation and preparation of financial statements for client engagements.
• Close monthly and quarterly books, including prepaids, accruals, depreciation, and GAAP adjustments.
• Assist in preparing GAAP work papers and trial balances.

Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing outsourced accounting and financial reporting services to a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries. Working as an extension of each client's finance team, this role supports day-to-day accounting operations, monthly close activities, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. The Staff Accountant collaborates closely with senior team members and client personnel to ensure accurate financial information, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and deliver exceptional client service. This position offers exposure to a variety of businesses and provides a strong foundation for career growth within client accounting and advisory services. This position will report directly to a Manager in our Outsourced Accounting Services Practice Group.

Travel Expectations: This role requires minimal travel, less than 10% per year.

You Will

• Perform attestation work including compilation and preparing financial statement engagements
• Perform month end/quarter end closes for multiple client engagements, including maintenance of prepaids, accruals, depreciation and other GAAP accounting adjustments.
• Assist our professional team in preparing GAAP work papers, trial balances.
• Apply basic GAAP accounting and work through more complex GAAP accounting with assistance from supervisor.
• Process payables for multiple clients and produce payable reports /checks with approval
• Process/maintain receivables for multiple clients and make deposits
• Record bank and credit card transactional activity in QuickBooks.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain/monitor cash balances.
• Know and understand the reason for the firm's policies and procedures
• Establish effective work schedules
• Build and nurture strong working relationships with clients
• Work as an effective team member to complete project components and assignment tasks
• Actively participate in meetings as a member of the outsourced accounting team.

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $70,000 - $75,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
