Are you a detail-oriented accountant who loves keeping the books clean and the numbers right? Do you want to be part of a team that genuinely cares about the clients you serve? If so, we at TRM CPA would love to chat with you about our Staff Accountant role! This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, financial analysis, and client accounting services within a collaborative CPA firm environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly client accounting duties for clients in the $250K-$5M annual gross revenue range including bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for these clients
• Work closely with tax professionals by gathering and organizing financial documents and year‑end data
• Support senior team members with other accounting and reporting tasks such as payroll, 1099 processing, and other similar duties

Requirements

• 2+ years minimum client accounting experience, ideally working with business clients in a varying range of industry types. CPA firm environment preferred.
• Experience with payroll processing within different payroll platforms, and understanding how to make QBO tie to the payroll tax returns
• Proficiency in working with Microsoft Excel
• Ability and willingness to be client-facing for information gathering and answering clients’ questions
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high level of professionalism in all communications
• The strength and determination to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• A servant’s heart and positive attitude for helping business owners understand the financial side of their businesses
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience with Zoom, Slack, ShareFile, Outlook, and Karbon is a plus
• Converting clients to QBO from QB Desktop and other accounting platforms is a plus
