Job description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client’s finance team onsite in Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the following functions:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, deferred revenue, and month-end close processes.
  • Support the processing and management of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments/billing.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards (GAAP)
  • Reconciliation of bank and credit card statements and cash payments
  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports
  • Processing and reviewing invoices.
  • Additional areas of support will include contract management, HR, administrative tasks towards deadlines and deliverables, and assistance to executive leadership.
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the financial services or a similar industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with QuickBooks required.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations (GAAP, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
