Job summary

CFS in Temple Terrace, Florida is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a growing transportation and logistics company. You will work alongside accounting leadership, gaining exposure to month-end close, financial reporting, and payroll accounting operations.

The role offers visibility with senior leadership and opportunities to contribute to process improvements as the company scales. Hybrid flexibility may be available for employees living beyond 30 miles.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of accounting experience, including general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
• Experience preparing journal entries and supporting month-end close activities
• Exposure to payroll accounting is a plus
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, reporting, and pivot tables
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close activities and preparation of supporting schedules
• Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations
• Support payroll accounting and related financial transactions
• Investigate and resolve account variances and reconciliation discrepancies
• Assist with financial analysis, reporting, and account fluctuation reviews
• Support audit requests and preparation of audit documentation
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company accounting policies
• Contribute to process improvements and accounting department initiatives
