Job summary

Beacon Hill in Raleigh is hiring a Staff Accountant to join the accounting team. You will support month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations in acollaborative environment.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in Accounting or Finance and 1–4 years of experience, with strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems. This is a full-time on-site opportunity with room to grow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting preferred).
  • 1-4 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and lookup functions.
  • Experience working with ERP or accounting software systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and posting journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Performing bank, balance sheet, and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Analyzing financial data and researching account variances.
  • Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.
  • Maintaining fixed asset schedules and assisting with depreciation calculations.
  • Preparing supporting schedules and documentation for audits.
  • Assisting with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
  • Supporting special projects and ad hoc reporting requests from management.
