Job summary

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounting experience in a large corporate accounting department or 5+ years bookkeeping experience.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
  • Curiosity and aptitude for using AI and emerging tools to enhance accounting workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare GL journal entries and monthly accruals to assist with the month-end close.
  • Must prioritize workload and work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Perform timely research and resolution of issues, including preparing adjusting entries.
  • Perform low-volume cash posting.
  • Streamline processes, create efficiencies, and improve the close process.
  • Serve as the primary accountant for a related nonprofit entity, owning all accounting activity in QuickBooks Online, including full balance sheet reconciliations and submission of financial reports to leadership.
  • Other duties, as assigned in support of the Finance & Accounting department.

Job Summary

The Staff Accountant performs a range of activities regarding data entry, preparation of journal entries, account reconciliation, low-volume cash posting, and variance research in the accounting system. This role coordinates actively within the accounting team and with various stakeholders cross-functionally to ensure that accurate and timely data is collected and recorded.

Qualifications
  • The Successful Candidate Will Have High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience in a large corporate accounting department or 5+ years bookkeeping experience.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
  • Curiosity and aptitude for using AI and emerging tools to enhance accounting workflows.
  • This position is designated Safety Sensitive under the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act.
