Job summary

Target Freight Management (TFM) is a well-established logistics company based in Pittsburgh, PA. The Staff Accountant will report to the CFO and handle journal entries, general ledger updates, and monthly reporting to ensure financial deadlines are met.

The role requires 3–7 years of related experience, strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Budget support and coordination with external accounting firms are also part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required.
• 3-7 years of related experience required.
• Strong Excel skills including an understanding of complex formulas. Use of AI.
• Detail- and deadline-oriented with strong organizational and documentation competencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to GAAP.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily bank and intercompany reconciliations, along with weekly credit card reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries, update general ledger, account reconciliations, analysis and compilation of monthly reporting.
• Assist with the yearly budget process and quarterly forecast as needed.
• Assist outside accounting firm with annual review and tax compliance including 1099 reporting.
• Communicate regularly with individuals in other departments/locations to ensure all required submissions are completed.
• Identify and implement modifications to processes to improve efficiency within the accounting department and the organization.
• Other ad hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned by the CFO.

Under the direction of the CFO, the Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of a company’s reports and statements. The Staff Accountant will perform journal entries, organize and update financial reports and will support the accounting department in carrying out these responsibilities to meet financial deadlines.

Range for Staff Accountant

$70,000.00 - $90,000.00
