GardenCore in Peachtree Corners, GA is seeking a Staff Accountant to support accounting and financial reporting within the Field Support Office. Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, monthly close, and audits, ensuring US GAAP compliance.

The role partners with field and functional teams to maintain accurate financial information, analyze results, and support robust reporting. A CPA path is a plus, and growth within a private-equity-backed environment is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP/financial reporting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and other close-related entries.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items timely.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including schedules and variance analysis.
• Maintain accurate accounting for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, leases, intercompany activity, and other areas.
• Analyze account activity and financial results for accuracy and classification.
• Assist with the preparation of supporting schedules for financial and management reporting.
• Assist with external audit requests and PBC schedules.
• Partner with teams to research transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Support accounting policies, internal controls, and compliance activities.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate processes.

GardenCore is searching for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Peachtree Corners, GA. The Staff Accountant supports GardenCore's accounting and financial reporting activities within the Field Support Office. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, supporting the monthly close process, analyzing financial results, and assisting with audit and reporting requirements. The position partners with field and functional teams to maintain accurate, timely, and well-supported financial information in accordance with US GAAP.

Job Responsibilities

Accounting & Close

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and other close-related entries.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items timely.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including assigned schedules and variance analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualification

• CPA designation or active progress toward CPA certification.
• Experience in a private equity-backed, multi-entity, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
• Experience supporting external audits, acquisitions, or accounting process improvements.
