  • Ability to manage multiple entities and projects simultaneously, including intercompany activity and consolidations.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP - particularly capitalization of construction costs, capitalized interest, and asset placed-in-service determinations - and the ability to research and document technical accounting positions.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams to gather necessary information.
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to present to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly accounting functions including billing and accounts payable review, including review of entries prepared by staff-level accountants. Ensure all entries are properly coded and in accordance with policy.
  • Own the construction-in-progress and fixed asset subledgers, including capitalization of project costs, transfers to service at placed-in-service dates, disposals, depreciation schedules, and compliance with the capitalization policy.
  • Own and review detailed balance sheet reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Investigate and explain significant variances and unusual transactions during month end close, including balance sheet flux analysis.
  • Lead monthly close responsibilities as well as quarterly reporting to management, including variance analysis and ad hoc reporting.
  • Review monthly bank statement reconciliations and resolve outstanding cash items.
