Job summary

Sterling Computers Corporation is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the CFO with accounting duties, monthly close, and financial reporting. The role requires strong Excel skills and experience with Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat; Salesforce experience is a plus.

Title : Staff Accountant

Reports to: CFO

Job Description : The Staff Accountant supports the CFO with a variety of accounting duties, including maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month-end and year-end close. The Staff Accountant collects statistical data, assists with the analysis of this data, and recommends action to the CFO based on this information.

Required Technical Skills: The Staff Accountant should be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel. Also, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional is required. Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM is a plus.

Required Education/Experience: The Staff Accountant should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting related role. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar business-related field with an emphasis on accounting is required.

Requirements:

• Very organized, detail-oriented worker.
• Very good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to prepare and analyze financial reports and statistical data.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collect statistical data from accounting software. Summarize, interpret, and present data into report format.
• Prepare monthly financial reports in support of the CFO and other senior management.
• Prepare and analyze account reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly reports detailing expenses by cost center.
• Complete month-end closing tasks.
• Perform additional accounting functions as requested by the CFO.
• Answer and explain accounting procedural questions from other departments.
