Job summary

Pilot Fiber in New York City is seeking an accountant to help manage daily financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable and month-end close. You will work with a close-knit team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance, 1+ year of accounting experience, solid GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel/Sage Intacct skills. We offer competitive pay and benefits and a collaborative work culture.

• Proficiency with Excel and spreadsheets; Sage Intacct experience is a plus.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly and work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable transactions with correct coding and documentation.
• Assist with accounts receivable activities, including cash application and aging.
• Support month-end close, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Assist with revenue recognition and billing reviews.
• Reconcile corporate credit cards and vendor accounts; resolve discrepancies.
• Support remittance to channel partners, managers and vendors.
• Contribute to company-wide policies and participate in audits.
• Perform ad hoc accounting tasks and analyses as needed.
• Adapt to varying workflows and deadline-driven environment.

ON A TYPICAL DAY YOU'LL

• Process accounts payable transactions, including reviewing and entering vendor invoices, verifying supporting documentation, and ensuring accurate coding and timely processing

• Contribute to Accounts Receivable operations, including but not limited to applying cash receipts, reconciling customer accounts, and strategically managing outstanding and aging AR balances

• Assist with month-end close processes, including performing bank reconciliations and processing journal entries

• Assist with revenue recognition by reviewing billing activity and ensuring revenue is recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting policies

• Reconcile corporate credit card accounts by reviewing transactions, verifying supporting documentation and coding, and resolving discrepancies

• Support our monthly process to remit payment to channel partners, building managers, and vendors/suppliers

• Contribute to the development of company-wide policies to support business operations

• Support financial audits by providing requested documentation and information

• Conduct cost analyses and assist with various ad hoc accounting tasks and projects

• Perform additional duties assigned based on variations in team workflows

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA a plus)

• 1+ years of Accounting-related experience

• Basic understanding of accounting principles and GAAP accounting

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to build effective relationships both internal and external

• Demonstrated team player; fosters a positive and collaborative team environment

• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask, take initiative and work within deadlines

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly

• Elementary or better proficiency with mid-tier ERP systems (Sage Intacct) is a plus

• Base salary of $65,000 - $77,000
