Job summary

Starwood Hotels seeks a Staff Accountant for our 1 Hotel Nashville finance team. You will support AR, EOM entries and P&L closings, with focus on accuracy and process discipline. The role involves daily cash handling, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration to safeguard assets.

You’ll join a detail-oriented team that analyzes data to drive bottom-line results, audits petty cash and adjustment reports, and contributes to tax compliance. A 2–4 year background in accounting is preferred.

• Passionate about numbers and 2-4 years of experience in a similar function.
• A post-secondary diploma or degree would be a plus.
• Is flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.
• A team player, hard worker, multi-tasker and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AR, EOM entries, and P&L closings daily.
• Audit exec checks, petty cash, and adjustment reports.
• Distribute reports to Guidance Team and stakeholders.
• Prepare cash over/short reports and reconcile ledgers.
• Process invoices and match PO numbers to invoices.
• Analyze information and provide evidence-based conclusions.
• Monitor taxes, maintain controls, and safeguard assets.
• Support daily cash deposits and related reconciliations.

We’re currently searching for a Staff Accountant to support this brilliant Finance and Accounting team in overseeing AR, EOM Entries, and P&L Closings.
Audit Exec Checks, Petty Cash, and Adjustment reports daily, distribute to Guidance Team.
Compile and distribute hotel “Cash Over/Short” report, & balances credit card ledgers.
Prepare daily consolidate deposits of cash received in outlets and by Front Desk.
Assist with invoice processing and matching PO’s to invoices for processing
Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Achieves and exceeds goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
Monitors all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected and/or accrued.
Maintains a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets.
