Job summary

Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice in Mount Laurel Township, NJ, seeks an accounting professional with 2+ years of experience to join our finance team. You will reconcile cash and general ledger activity, prepare monthly journal entries, and assist in year-end close, budgeting, and forecasting.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and solid GAAP knowledge, with strong analytical and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience, healthcare experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related business field
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and analytical/problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in Excel and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Reconcile daily cash receipts and disbursements
• Analyze monthly activity of assigned general ledger accounts
• Prepare monthly journal entries for accurate financial reporting
• Reconcile balance sheet and related income statement accounts
• Prepare draft income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Assist in year-end close, budgeting, and forecasting
• Research technical accounting issues to ensure proper treatment of complex transactions
• Support Payroll/Accounts Payable Coordinator
• Assist with multiple functions throughout the Finance Department

Salary: $63,500 - $79,600 based on years of experience

What You'll Do:

• Reconcile daily cash receipts and disbursements
• Analyze monthly activity of assigned general ledger accounts
• Prepare monthly journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and adjust associated income statement accounts
• Prepare draft income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Assist in year-end close
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting
• Research technical accounting issues to ensure appropriate treatment of complex transactions
• Support Payroll/Accounts Payable Coordinator
• Other duties as assigned
• Assist with multiple functions throughout Finance Department
• Other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring:

• 2+ years of accounting experience, healthcare experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related business field.
• Ability to interact with all levels of associates within organization, knowledge of GAAP, analytical and problem-solving skills, and management skills
• Strong computer skills and must be proficient in ExcelDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills
