AeroFlow Technologies is hiring a Staff Accountant in Middletown, CT. The role focuses on leading branch accounting work, ensuring accuracy of financial statements in line with US GAAP and internal controls.

You will manage the general ledger, support the close process, reconcile accounts, and collaborate with department leads on budget versus actual results. ERP experience (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite) and strong Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA or equivalent certification required.
• 3+ years accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and month-end close experience; ERP proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaids, intercompany).
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of transactions.
• Assist in month-end close activities and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with department leads on budget vs. actual results.
• Process and code vendor invoices, expenses, and POs in the ERP.
• Ensure timely payment runs and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations (cash, GL accounts, fixed assets).
• Investigate and clear reconciling items.
• Adhere to SOX controls and company policies.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting.
• Participate in system implementations or upgrades.

Staff Accountant

General Management Full Time P3-Professional Middletown, CT, US

Salary Range: $82,000.00 To $88,000.00 Annually

The Staff Accountant takes a leading role in branch accounting work, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards, company policies and procedures, internal controls and local statutory and US GAAP requirements. Duties include maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger and related financial statements, coordinating relevant aspects of the financial close process, performing account reconciliations and analysis to verify accuracy and entering journal entries.

So, what will you be doing as a Staff Accountant :

• Prepare and post daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries (accruals, prepaids, intercompany, etc.).
• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
• Assist in month‑end close activities, including account reconciliations, variance analyses, and preparation of supporting schedules.
• Collaborate with department leads to verify budget vs. actual results.
• Process and code vendor invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders in the ERP system.
• Ensure timely payment runs and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations (cash, GL control accounts, fixed assets).
• Investigate and clear reconciling items.
• Ensure adherence to SOX controls and company policies.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
• Participate in system implementations or upgrades as needed.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and month‑end close procedures.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills. Hyperion Financial Management and/or Epicor experience a plus.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate across functions.
• 3+ years accounting experience in manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or equivalent international certification required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Prior experience in aerospace or complex manufacturing environments a plus.
