General Purpose:
Responsible for all daily accounting tasks, including but not limited to transactional activity within Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Payroll, & the General Ledger. The Staff Accountant is responsible for carrying out relevant administrative duties with strong attention to detail. Ultimately, the individual in this position is responsible for ensuring that all transactional activities are running smoothly. This position will report to the Accounting Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting in the accurate recordkeeping and maintenance of all financial recordkeeping activities, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with weekly payroll processing & reporting.
  • Perform account reconciliations, analyses, & journal entries.
  • Responsible for transactional activities such as expense recording.
  • Provide job accounting assistance with Project Managers.
  • Responsible for assisting in the tactical execution of financial projects & deliverables.
  • Responsible for day-to-day partnering with operations to assist with procedures and administrative tasks.
  • Engage with customers and vendors to resolve any accounting issues.
  • Assist with Human Resource and payroll initiatives.
  • Assist in conducting month-end and year-end closures.
  • Prepare Audit documentation.
  • Work with the Accounting Manager to improve financial processes.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, or Finance is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated initiative.
  • Excellent use of MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Travel Requirement:
Travel may occasionally be required to the corporate office location in Beaver Falls, PA.

Location:
This is an onsite only position located at 506 Valley Brook Road, McMurray, PA 15317.

Physical Requirements:
Will regularly sit, use of hands/fingers, talk/hear. Will occasionally stand, walk, grasp, reach w/ hands/arms, bend/stoop/kneel/squat/crawl. Lift up to 10lbs. Near vision. Ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
Will regularly be in an office. For the most part, ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in typical office environment. Moderate noise level. Employees must use personal protective equipment as deemed necessary by the industry/construction safety standards and/or by McCarl’s safety policy and procedures.
