Job summary

Confidential in Los Angeles is seeking a Staff Accountant fresh from public accounting to join our entertainment industry team onsite in West Los Angeles.

You will own core accounting operations, month-end close, AP, expense processing, bank reconciliations, and support for internal financial statements.

CPA progress preferred; 2–3+ years in public accounting; Bachelor's in Accounting required. This role offers an onsite, fast-paced environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–3+ years of public accounting experience; Big 4 preferred.
• CPA or active progress toward licensure strongly preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting ERP systems.
• Detail-oriented, self-directed, proactive, and ready to hit the ground running in their first industry role.

Responsibilities

• Core accounting operations: clean books, accurate transactions, and a GL you can stand behind.
• Month-end close support including journal entries, reconciliations, and on-time deliverables.
• Accounts payable processing: managing vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and timely payment execution.
• Expense management: reviewing and processing employee expense reports, enforcing company policies, and maintaining accurate records.
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations, with a sharp eye for discrepancies.
• Assistance with internal financial statements and management reporting.
• Audit support including workpaper preparation, documentation, and keeping the team audit-ready year-round.
• Contributing to process and systems improvement initiatives alongside senior finance leadership.
• Ad hoc projects where you can flex a solutions-first mindset and show what you are made of.

What You Bring

• 2-3+ years of experience in public accounting, Big 4 experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or active progress toward one strongly preferred
• Strong Excel skills and comfort navigating accounting and reporting systems; ERP experience a plus
• Detail-oriented, self-directed, and proactive, someone who takes ownership, holds their work to a high bar, and is ready to hit the ground running in their first industry role
