Job summary

CFS Brands in Lodi, NJ is seeking a Staff Accountant to support accurate financial reporting across reconciliations, inventory, tax, audits, and analysis while collaborating with the Finance team. This on-site, full-time role at our Lodi facility requires a fast-paced, detail-oriented individual.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 2 years of related experience and strong Excel skills to manage journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 2 years of related working experience.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable and general accounting procedures.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
• Proficient in data entry MS Office Suite and other accounting software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (V-lookups, X-lookups and pivot tables).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritizes multiple tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations.
• Perform monthly Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Complete and file monthly/quarterly sales tax filings.
• Reconcile Inventory On-Hand & In-Transit schedules.
• Analyze Inventory Excess & Obsolescence Reserve, Bad Debt Reserve, & Rebates.
• Assist with financial statement audits and 401k audits.
• Complete margin, variance, trend, & ad hoc analyses.
• On-site presence Monday – Friday in Lodi, NJ.

Location : This role is located ON SITE, 5 days a week, at our office facility in Lodi, New Jersey.

CFS Brands is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant who enjoys digging into the numbers, keeping financial records accurate, and helping the business understand what’s behind the results. In this role, you’ll support key accounting activities across reconciliations, inventory, tax, audits, and financial analysis while working closely with the broader Finance team.

What You Will Do:

As the Staff Accountant, you will support accurate financial reporting through the following essential functions:

• Journal Entries. Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations.
• Bank Reconciliations. Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations.
• Financial Reconciliations. Perform monthly Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Sales Tax. Complete and file monthly/quarterly sales tax filings with the appropriate jurisdictions.
• Inventory Reconciliation. Reconcile Inventory On-Hand & In-Transit schedules consisting of vendor, freight, customs, & broker bills.
• Reserve Analysis. Analyze Inventory Excess & Obsolescence (E&O) Reserve, Bad Debt Reserve, & Rebate/commissions true-ups.
• Audit Support. Respond to information requests and assist with financial statement audit, sales tax audits, & 401k audits.
• Financial Analysis. Complete margin, variance, trend, & ad hoc analyses.
• Office Presence. On-site presence Monday – Friday in our office facility in Lodi, NJ.
