Job description

Arkansas Talent Group is seeking a Staff Accountant for an international manufacturing organization nearing completion of its new production facility in Little Rock, Arkansas. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing finance team during a pivotal stage of expansion and help establish strong accounting processes for a newly launched Arkansas operation.

This position is temporary for the foreseeable futureas the company completes the plant startup, establishes accounting processes, and gains clarity around its long-term organizational needs. It offers an excellent opportunity for an adaptable accounting professional to contribute in a highly visible capacity while the organization defines the scope and structure of permanent finance roles at the facility.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, analytical accounting professional who can think critically, solve problems independently, and navigate a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This individual will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, reporting, reconciliations, and financial controls while partnering closely with both local leadership and corporate finance stakeholders. The company utilizes QuickBooks, so comfort learning, optimizing, and working efficiently within accounting systems is essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the daily accounting operations for the Little Rock manufacturing facility, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including recurring entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, payroll-related entries, fixed assets, and other general ledger activity.
  • Perform monthly bank, credit card, balance sheet, and general ledger account reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including financial statement preparation, supporting schedules, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks and help improve the reliability, organization, and efficiency of accounting workflows within the system.
  • Review financial activity for accuracy, completeness, appropriate coding, and adherence to internal accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed, including invoice review, payment support, customer billing, collections support, and vendor account reconciliation.
  • Support inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing-related accounting activities as the new facility becomes operational.
  • Track and reconcile fixed assets, capital expenditures, construction-in-progress activity, and depreciation schedules associated with the new plant.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of accounting processes, internal controls, documentation, and reporting procedures appropriate for a growing manufacturing operation.
  • Analyze variances, identify unusual trends, and communicate findings or recommendations to finance leadership.
  • Prepare reports and provide financial information to local management, corporate accounting teams, auditors, vendors, and other internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation supporting financial transactions, account balances, and internal controls.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, human resources, logistics, and plant leadership to resolve accounting issues and improve financial visibility.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and responsibilities while remaining adaptable as the Little Rock facility grows and processes evolve.
  • Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of progressive accounting experience preferred; experience in manufacturing, distribution, inventory, construction, or a multi-entity environment is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close.
  • Experience using QuickBooks is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with formulas, pivot tables, reconciliations, and financial data analysis.
  • Ability to think critically, investigate discrepancies, recognize trends, and develop practical solutions rather than simply processing transactions.
  • Comfortable learning new technology, working across accounting systems, and identifying opportunities to improve processes through automation and better use of financial tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • High degree of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial and business information.
  • CPA track, manufacturing accounting experience, and exposure to international or corporate reporting environments are all desirable but not required.
Why This Opportunity

This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact within a new Arkansas manufacturing facility backed by an international organization. The Staff Accountant will have visibility across the business, exposure to plant startup activities, and the opportunity to help build scalable accounting practices from the ground up. While this assignment is currently temporary, the experience will be especially valuable for someone who enjoys supporting a business through change, growth, and the creation of new processes.
