Responsibilities

• Responsible for month-end close functions across multiple legal entities including journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules and analyses.
• Maintain financial records in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Reconcile numerous Balance Sheet accounts monthly.
• Reconcile bank activity and complete month-end cash reconciliations.
• Assist with revenue invoicing and payroll functions for selected entities.
• Review, investigate, and correct errors in financial entries, documents and reports.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes and deadlines.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Monitor taxation requirements and prepare audit schedules.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. TheStaff Accountant works with the general ledger and is responsible for the books for numerous business segment within Hoover Circular Solutions. The position works as a team member with the finance and accounting staff in support of the accounting efforts worldwide.
Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for certain month-end close functions across multiple legal entities including the review of journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules and other analyses
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Reconciles numerous Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
• Reconcile bank activity and complete month-end cash reconciliations
• Assist with the review of revenue invoicing (rail billing) with selected business units
• Assist with payroll functions for selected entities.
• Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
• Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes
• Continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities
• Monitor and support taxation requirements
• Prepare internal and external audit schedules
• Evaluate and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments, and future revenues
• Collect and analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Navision ERP experience preferred
• Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, taxation, and full cycle G/L accounting
• Advanced Excel skills
• Must be flexible, self-starter, change-oriented, self-motivated team player
• Possess excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills
• Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
