Position Overview: Happy Day Holding’s LLC is looking for a Staff Accountant.

The Staff Accountant is a detailed examiner who has an excellent command of financial reporting and cost accounting. This role provides support for the internal control of physical inventory and is accountable for the upkeep and accuracy of accounting systems.

The ideal candidate is a mastermind of figures who pushes for process improvement, understands root cause analysis and can laugh in the face of month-end deadlines.

Other functions the Staff Accountant’s role entails:

• Complete monthly financial closing processes, including but not limited to journal entries, account analyses, adjustments and reconciliations
• Prepare financial and operational schedules for internal and external customers
• Assist in the improvement of internal controls related to inventory and enforce inventory policies and procedures
• Perform physical stock checks, physical assets and tools counts on an as-needed basis and highlight variances
• Maintain acceptable and accurate inventory levels at Warehouse and Inventory Locations based on goods shipped
• Ensure that goods received by Warehouse are matched with the actual invoices from the suppliers in the ERP system
• Ensure timely payment of vendors for all company purchases and expenses including, but not limited to, inventory/cost of goods sold, utilities, supplies, freight, professional fees and all other SG&A expenses
• Provide assistance and support for accounts receivable including, but not limited to, application of payments to customer accounts, invoicing for retail and wholesale customers, collection efforts and review and analysis of customer receivables aging
• Analyze financial results and provide explanations for forecast, plan and prior year fluctuations
• Assist with special projects and additional assignments as needed.
• Job duties may be changed or added based on department and company needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong Accounting skills with 2-3 years’ experience
• An understanding of GAAP in relation to inventory
• Experience with SAP Business one preferred
• Strategic, big-picture thinking and a thirst to learn
• Must be self-directed and motivated and also can work well within a team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Punctuality and consistent work attendance
