7-Eleven, Inc. is seeking an Accounting professional in Irving, TX to support monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The role partners with business teams to ensure accurate and timely close.

You will analyze variances, assist with footnotes and disclosures, and help with budgeting and forecasting while upholding internal controls and accounting standards. CPA toward certification is a plus.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA designation or progress toward certification preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting software.

Responsabilidades

• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies for accurate reporting.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts and explain fluctuations.
• Assist in preparing financial reports, schedules, and footnotes for internal and external reporting.
• Maintain compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Support audits and budgeting/forecasting activities as needed.
• Identify process improvements to strengthen controls and efficiency.

This position is responsible for supporting the monthly accounting close process, preparing journal entries, analyzing financial data, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring financial information is recorded accurately and in accordance with applicable accounting standards. The role works closely with various business partners to support financial reporting, compliance, forecasting, and other accounting-related activities.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and accruals.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts and explain significant fluctuations and trends.
• Support the preparation of financial reports, schedules, and management reporting packages.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statement footnotes, disclosures, and other supplemental reporting schedules for quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
• Maintain compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with audits, financial reviews, and documentation requests.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities as needed.
• Perform research and analysis to support accounting conclusions and business decisions.
• Review and interpret agreements or transactions for potential accounting and financial reporting implications.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen controls.
• Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES:

CPA designation or progress toward certification.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business software applications.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
